Attention Parents of Homeschool Students in grades 3-8 and 11:
It is that time of year to begin thinking about end-of-year testing. Assessments for homeschool students are required in grades 3, 5, 8, & 11. Monroe County Schools offers testing in the following grade levels: 3-8, & 11. There are different assessment options that are available for you to choose for your child/children. They are as follows:
1. Standardized Test given by a certified person/organization
2. Portfolio evaluated by a certified teacher
3. WVGSA State Test/SAT School Day (11th grade) - given to Monroe County Schools Students
If you choose the WVGSA/SAT School Day for the end of year assessment for your child/children, then please complete the link at the bottom to register. We must receive it no later than Friday, December 13, 2024. If you choose the WVGSA/SAT option, then your child/children's name(s) will be given to the school that they would be attending if they were enrolled in the public-school system. You will need to contact the Principal/Administrator of that school, and they will give you the testing dates for your child/children. Your child/children will report to that location on their scheduled test dates and complete the WVGSA/SAT along with the other students in the school.
If you should have any questions/concerns, please feel free to contact me. I will be glad to assist in any way that we are able. My contact information is as follows:
btuggle@k12.wv.us (Bobbie Tuggle, Director of Technology and Assessment Coordinator) (304) 646-1650
Thank you for your time, and I hope that everyone is having a great school year thus far!
